ABOUT THE PROJECT
We knew we wanted to design a brand for Cali that would definitively set him apart from the other contractors and renovation companies in his market. With a business serving both commercial and residential clients in the beautiful town of Sedona, I knew it was important for his brand and website to communicate luxury, trustworthiness, and warmth at first glance.
I tasked Con Safos with designing a geometric and modern logo for the resulting brand, Nido Construction Group, which is centered around the Spanish word for “nest”. The resulting logo design is a direct nod to collected branches for building a nest, while also simultaneously evoking the undulating patterns in the rock formations of Sedona.
The brand colors are playful, modern, bright — and rooted in mid century modern and art deco design styles. I pulled the scheme from the patterns and stained glass art of Frank Lloyd Wright, making it an iconic color curation through the lens of both architectural and design history, as well as Arizona history.
It’s a unique and fresh color palette that sets Nido apart from the dull and professional colors of other contractors. Blue and green communicate trustworthiness and calm, while a bright Sedona red conveys warmth and liveliness.
The copy I wrote for Nido focuses on the pain-points of the industry — lack of communication, trustworthiness, and expertise. We honed in on brand messaging that’s soothing and reassuring to homeowners tired of shopping for a contractor they can trust to bring their dream home to life.
